Christopher Buse joined Old Republic Title Company as Senior Vice President, ORNTIC, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), as of July 15, 2020. In this role, Chris is based in Minneapolis, MN. He assumed the CISO position as Glen Armes, Senior Vice President, ORNTIC, transitions into a new role at Old Republic International (ORI), our parent company.
We are excited to welcome Chris, who has more than 34 years of experience in information technology, finance audit and cybersecurity. As CISO, he is responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive information security strategy for our Company. He also will facilitate information security governance and advise senior leadership on information security risks, while leading a team of information security staff members.
Prior to joining Old Republic Title, Chris was Deputy Legislative Auditor for the Minnesota Office of the Legislative Auditor from 2017 to 2020. In that position, he oversaw financial, internal control, compliance and IT audits. Before that, he directed the cybersecurity program for the state of Minnesota as Assistant Commissioner and CISO from 2006 to 2017. In addition to his cybersecurity duties, he provided executive leadership and oversight of certain technology functions for 78 Minnesota state government agencies. From 1986 to 2006, Chris served in a variety of positions with the Minnesota Office of the Legislative Auditor, including Technology Audit Manager, where he helped build the IT audit function for Minnesota state government.
Chris is a graduate of St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting. His other credentials include: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
