EASEMENT - RELOCATION

The law has recognized the right of the servient owner to relocate an easement acquired by grant. "So long as the grantor owned land on either side of easement, it could make changes in easement, provided they were consistent with rights of owner of lot served by easement"

Contrary to the easement created by a grant, an easement arising by prescription is limited to a particular use for which it was created and, as such, cannot be relocated.
