CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS – Department of Insurance:

Required number of continuing education hours: Individuals whose appointments become due for renewal this year or in 2001 must acquire a total of ten continuing education hours by their renewal date. Verification of continuing education hours: The Department of Insurance has contracted with Assessment Systems, Inc. (ASI) to provide education tracking services, as well as license application screening services and license exam administration. Individuals wishing to verify the number of continuing education credits they have acquired may request a transcript of those hours via fax by dialing ASI’s automated fax system at (888) 205-6251. The request should include the individual’s title insurance license number and the fax number to which ASI is to send the transcript. To contact ASI directly by phone, the number is (888) 204-6214. The ASI Web site is www.asisvcs.com. The DOI website is www.doi.state.fl.us.

Excess hours: Hours in excess of those needed for renewal are good for three years from the date they are earned and will carry forward to the next renewal period.

 

CONTINUING EDUCATIONS REQUIREMENTS – Florida BAR:

Continuing legal education is mandatory for all active bar members. The Continuing Legal Education Requirement (CLER) is 30 general credit hours of approved educational activity every three years with five of the 30 hours in the areas of legal ethics, professionalism or substance abuse.
