Mike Davis’ RetirementTime moves on and time brings change. Michael Davis, Florida State Counsel and our legal department manager, is going to retire effective February 28, 2004. His retirement will not be total, however. At our request and with his blessing, he will be available to take calls and assist you as needed in the future. He will also continue to guide and assist Connie Whitmire with our §1031 transactions. While Mike and his wife will be spending much of their time residing at their new home in North Carolina, he can be reached on his cell phone at 813-765-7331 or at his e-mail address of
mdavis@oldrepublictitle.com. If you don’t reach Mike immediately, he will get his messages and return calls with reasonable promptness.Mike joined Old Republic in 1998 after having spent time with a law firm in Naples which was also associated with a large title agency. Mike also acted as counsel for two other underwriters as well as spending time in private practice. Although Mike will not admit how long he has been in the title industry, rumor is that it pre-dates the use of carbon paper. Between now and the end of February, Mike will be in his office three days a week but will check messages and return calls on a daily basis. We have bestowed upon Mike the title of "King for a Day" and wish him and his wife a good life.
With Mike’s departure, we have appointed Jim Russick as the manager of our legal department. We know that Jim will continue to do a fine job for us and, more particularly, for you.
