Citizens & Northern Bank,
Wellsboro,
Pennsylvania,
has contacted the Federal Deposit
Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to
report that counterfeit checks
bearing the institution's name are
in circulation.
The counterfeit items display the
routing number
031308302, which is
assigned to Citizens & Northern
Bank. The items have an ornate top
border and display the bank's street
address below its name in the
top-left corner. The word "Dollars"
appears on the right side of the
items and a "FROM" line appears in
the lower-right corner.
Authentic checks have a security
feature statement embedded within a
darkened top border and display the
bank's logo in the top-left corner.
The word "AMOUNT" appears on the
right side of the checks.
Copies of a counterfeit item and an
authentic check (VOID) are attached
for your review. Be aware that the
appearance of counterfeit items can
be modified and that additional
variations may be presented.
