Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, one of the nation's largest title insurers, has an excellent opportunity available for a Regulatory Analyst in our downtown Minneapolis, MN office.


SUMMARY:


Responsible for preparation of annual state data calls and other related regulatory/statistical reporting, as well as assistance with inquiries related to such filings as market conduct exams, etc. Responsible for other data compilation and reporting related to regulatory and statistical data. Assist with preparation of unclaimed property filings. Other accounting duties as assigned including investment entries, and assistance with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


State Filings/Data Calls
Responsible for preparing the annual state regulatory data call filings, including coordination with IS department on data and reports needed. Also, responsible for preparing various ad hoc data requests from various state regulatory agencies.

Accounting and Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly investment reconciliations.

Provide assistance in the preparation of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements (Form 9’s) for three Old Republic Title Insurance Group (ORTIG) insurance companies as well as annual ORTIG Combined Form 9, the annual audited statutory financial statements for three ORTIG insurance companies, and other statutory accounting and reporting.

Provide assistance related to other sundry GAAP and statutory accounting and reporting.

Unclaimed Property Filings
Assist in the following functions related to unclaimed property: assist in filing the various state unclaimed property reports, performing final due diligence on large escheatable items, working with the various States and payees on claimed funds, handling follow-up questions, etc.

At a minimum, the ability to work during regular business hours Monday through Friday. Must be able to work extended hours as duties demand, especially in conjunction with quarterly and year-end reporting and deadlines related to annual state data calls and unclaimed property filings. Regular consistent attendance is required, that could include attendance at after hour Company events.

Ability to accept supervision.

Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships. Must be able to get along with others, i.e., peers, supervisors, and outside auditors and examiners.

Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone and in person.

Must be personable, positive, and a professional representative of the Company.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.



KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


A two-year degree in accounting, with knowledge of general accounting principles.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong mathematical aptitude.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple simultaneous projects, and adhere to hard deadlines.

Continuous attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel) and Outlook.



PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:


Ability to work with confidential information.

Ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday.

Repetitive and continual typing motion is required.

Ability to prepare and maintain organized and legible work papers and supporting documentation, keep a current knowledge of applicable accounting regulations, and comply with strict deadlines.
