Regulatory / Bank Reconciliation Accountant

Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, one of the nation's largest title insurers, has an excellent opportunity available for a Regulatory / Bank Reconciliation Accountant in our downtown Minneapolis, MN office.


Assist in the preparation of various bank account reconciliations. Assist in the logging of bank reconciliations, reconciling draft payable accounts, preparing annual unclaimed property filings, and various other tasks and projects as required by manager.


Assist in the preparation of various bank account reconciliations, investigate and resolve outstanding items.

Assist in logging bank reconciliations for SOX key control.

Work effectively with field locations to resolve various bank reconciliation and unclaimed property issues.

Assist with preparing the draft account reconciliations, monitor accounts for escheatable drafts, prepare adjusting entries, resolve outstanding items, etc.

Prepare journal entries to book monthly activity and correct outstanding reconciling items.

Assist in preparing various balance sheet account reconciliations and analyses.

Responsible for filing various state unclaimed property reports, performing final due diligence on large escheatable items, fielding follow-up questions, working with payees and state treasury departments to accurately and timely process requests for funds, etc.

Assist in preparing various schedules for the quarterly and annual Form 9.

Assist in various regulatory and special projects as requested by manager.

Assist in facilitating and responding to external auditors on bank reconciliation and escheat filing requests.


Self-motivated and organized individual, willing to accept new challenges

Two-year (2) accounting degree or accounting certificate with relevant work

experience. Good spreadsheet and data base computer skills

Good oral and written communication skills

Strong figure aptitude

At a minimum, the ability to work during regular business hours Monday through Friday. Must be able to work extended hours as duties demand, especially in conjunction with annual filing deadlines.

Repetitive and continual typing motion is required.

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting a majority of the time. Walking and standing are required, occasionally.
