The Corporate Internal Audit department, has an excellent opportunity available for an Internal Auditor. Primary duties are to conduct independent reviews of financial and operational activities of the Company, its subsidiaries and agencies under the guidance of a Manager, Senior Internal Auditor or the SVP Internal Audit. The position is based in Minneapolis but some flexibility is available as determined by the candidate’s industry experience on a case by case basis, solely at the discretion of the SVP Internal Audit.




  • Review financial and operating activities of the Company to determine the adequacy of internal controls and compliance with Company's policies and procedures. Where appropriate, develop constructive recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform special projects assigned by the Director of Internal Audit.
  • On audits with in-charge responsibilities, plan and design audit tests to be utilized.
  • Prepare working papers, which document work performed, and conclusions reached utilizing the IA department’s AutoAudit software.
  • Present findings and recommendations to Management during and at the conclusion of each audit. Prepare audit report drafts for review and approval by the Director of Internal Audit.
  • Perform audits in accordance with approved audit programs and the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and rapport with auditees to gain cooperation and acceptance of audit suggestions and recommendations.
  • Become knowledgeable of the Company’s operations. Keep abreast of changes in auditing techniques and related areas.
  • Provide assistance to the Company's external auditors, if requested.
  • Pursue self-development goals and increase auditing knowledge through seminars and workshops, and other approved methods such as self-study courses.




  • Must have four-year college degree in business related field. Industry experience is preferable but not required. Preference will be granted to candidates who are pursuing or have obtained a professional certification such as CPA, CIA, CFE, or CISA.
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive financial information.
  • Professional dress, demeanor and appearance are required as auditors represent the Company when traveling to field operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.



  • Overnight business travel by air and/or automobile, is required 35-50% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance is required.
  • Ability to work with confidential information.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday.

This position will most likely be based in Minneapolis but as I noted in the job description, I can have some flexibility on where the person lives if they are the right fit for the job, have appropriate experience, etc. But as noted it is at my sole discretion.
