Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, one of the nation's largest title insurers, has an excellent opportunity available for a North Central Agency Audit Officer in our downtown Minneapolis, MN office. Join our team and be on the frontlines of the business working side by side with our agents in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and the Chicago Metro. Serve as a primary source of training and support for our vast network of agents.




This position is responsible for conducting on-site and off-site audits and recertifications of Old Republic National Title Insurance's agents in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and Chicago Metro area. Monitor new agents during their first year and provide training and support to agents as needed and/or requested by management.


Plan and schedule agency audits and determine the scope of each examination

Perform audits as outlined in the Agency Administration Manual depending on the risk classification level assigned to the agent

Perform examinations of escrow financial and escrow operational activities of its agents using standard audit guidelines provided by the Chief Internal Auditor to assess risk

Identify existing or potential control weaknesses and using sound business judgment, develop constructive recommendations for improvement to minimize risk

Prepare working papers that document work performed and conclusions reached

Present findings and recommendations to agency’s management during and at the conclusion of each audit

Prepare agency audit report for review and approval by the Division Manager

Develop and maintain effective communication and rapport with customers to assure cooperation and receptiveness in implementing audit recommendations

Analyze consumer credit reports run on agency personnel to identify and minimize company risk

Keep supervisor informed of all agent activities and audit item of note within agency network

Provide assistance, if requested, to agencies on escrow matters and other special projects

Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by Division Manager

Pursue self-development goals and increase escrow-auditing knowledge

At a minimum, the ability to work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Regular consistent attendance is required, that could include attendance at after hour Company events.

Ability to accept supervision.

Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships. Must be able to get along with others, i.e., peers, supervisors, outside customers, and vendors.

Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone and in person.

Must be personable, positive, and a professional representative of the Company.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.


  • College Business Degree is preferred, preferably with course work in accounting or business
  • Two years of work experience as an escrow closer or auditor is required
  • Knowledge of title insurance operational issues
  • Knowledge of reconciliation software such as RamQuest, Softpro, Quick Books, Title Soft, AIM, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of object oriented design principles.
  • Ability to work successfully both independently and within team environments.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed individual who takes pride in their work product.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.



  • Professional dress, demeanor and appearance are required as auditors represent the Company when traveling to field operations
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance is required.
  • Must be able to travel approximately 75-80% of the time including overnight – schedule varies depending on audit schedule. May include weekend and evening hours.
  • Ability to work with confidential information.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday.
  • Repetitive and continual typing motion is required.
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting a majority of the time. Walking and standing are required, occasionally.
